Job Description
A leading Law Firm in Dubai is looking for a Bilingual Legal Assistant. (Excellent proficiency in Arabic and English is a must)
Duties
- Provide legal support by conducting extensive case-related research on facts and laws as well as search public records and other resources to determine the course of action.
- Attend an Expert meeting.
- Open new case files and ensure all required documents and complete client details are provided and kept in the file.
- Create and manage a case management database and organize and maintain documents in a paper and electronic filing system (case engine).
- Organize and monitor files related to handled cases and relevant transactions.
- Prepare and draft legal notice, settlement agreement, pleadings, correspondence, bilingual contract and other legal documents under the supervision of the handling lawyer.
- Register cases online.
- Prepare the minutes of meetings with client or expert.
- Obtain copies of court documents, such as judgment, case file and expert report.
- Check case decision and update the concerned Advocate / Associate.
- Prepare the Terms of Engagement letter in Arabic/English and make sure that it is signed by the client. Provide a copy to Accounts Department and shared network folder.
- Monitor and follow up with the client regarding the status of outstanding invoices.
- Update client using both Arabic and English languages.
- Summarize / translate court decision / judgment as needed.
- Arrange the necessary documents for legal translation and review the translated document before submitting it to the court/expert.
Role and Responsibilities
- Prepare Power of Attorney (POA) online.
- Assist lawyers in organizing exhibits and archiving exhibits online for their hearings and handle other tasks when needed.
- Prepare legal documents for court submission.
- Render legal opinion and advice on matters involving various legal issues.
- Perform other duties assigned or required from time to time.
Qualification:
Minimum Educational Requirement:
Male / Female; Graduate of Bachelor of Laws or higher degree from an accredited university.
Minimum Experiential Requirement:
At least 3 years of continuous practical legal training.
Preferred Skills
Proficient in MS Office, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel; Fluent in oral and written Arabic and English communications; Strong interpersonal skill; Highly organized; Keen to details; Must be able to effectively multi-task and meet deadlines; Must be able to function effectively in a busy, team-oriented environment; Strong analytical ability.
