Job Overview:
To support the Etihad Freighter Operations, both the owned and leased fleet. Provide operational oversight for scheduled and charter operations, ensuring flights operate in a safe and timely manner.

Job Requirements:
Qualification & Education:

  • Diploma/degree level highly desirable. Further training in logistics / flight planning / dispatch or load planning would also be an advantage.

  • A minimum of 5 years airline experience is essential, with a minimum of 3 years in an operational role.
  • A strong background in freighter operations is essential, with equal experience in cargo charter flights.
  • Common sense is probably the primary keyword to the job. There are various opportunities to complicate the job when common sense must prevail

Training & Knowledge:
  • Strong communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to prioritise the continually changing deadlines and tasks
  • Freighter commercial and operations background
  • High level of computer literacy Strategic planning and project management skills

Job Duties:
  • Provide dad to day freighter co-ordination by liaising with all stakeholders involved in the operation of the freighter network, including but not limited to: crewing, maintenance, load masters, flight operations, security and handling.
  • Assist with all operational freighter activities from daily oversight to ensure scheduled flights operate on time to making sure ad-hoc charters are setup in line with safety, security and corporate governance.
  • Daily co-ordination of ACMI provider’s daily activities ensuring schedule integrity is maintained and act as a point of coordination between the ACMI provider and internal stakeholder.
  • Make operational arrangements for charters. Engage with ground handlers, fueling companies, airport authorities, and government bodies such as civil aviation authorities.
  • Emergency contingency planning in the event of schedule disruption, proactively find solutions to minimize impact on the schedule and closely liaise with NOC ensuring all concerned are updated.
  • Full adherence and compliance in regards to safety, security and corporate governance.
  • Liaise with charter customer during the charter flight setup to ensure a high level of personal service by being available to answer any questions, ensuring all permits and handling is setup and to make sure the customer receives movement updates.
  • Be part of a weekly meeting with ULD management, notifying them about future upcoming charters and to get an update on previous week’s activities.
  • Be a point of contact for the network stations regarding any freighter related optional issues, including but not limited to: handling, invoices, HOTAC, loading issues, permit issues and catering oversight.
  • Tasking 3rd party service companies like Jeppesen to assist with handling requirements where Etihad do not have a contract.
