Job Duties:

  • Directs, leads and motivates a team of Area Sales Managers/BDMs /Sales Agents to ensure effective management of the sales network. Applies effective sales management techniques to maximise sales.
  • Promoting an effective sales culture and the application of effective/standardised sales activity management processes to develop "needs based selling" for the Direct Sales Cards team across the Area
  • Monitoring Sales Management activities and sales metrics for BDMs and staff objectives including key sales activity metrics and sales objectives for the sales staff and providing guidance and support to enhance performance.
  • Developing actionable, innovative and effective activities to achieve sales targets
  • Developing needs based selling and "packaged sales products" selling skills and ensuring the Sales team also develops these skills.
  • Communicating activities, monitoring sales performance and undertaking remedial action as required
  • Accompanying BDMs to team meetings and conducting Sales Agent one-on-ones.
  • Providing or enabling coaching and skill enhancement training and providing ongoing feedback to improve the Team's knowledge and skills
  • Ensuring that the ASMs/BDMs effectively manage and support the Sales Agents to exceed their targets in a manner compliant ADCB's policy and Sales Handbooks
  • Facilitating individual and team buy-in to sales targets
  • Ensuring there are regular team meetings to analyse progress and plan activity to succeed
  • Identifying training needs and coordinating with the relevant departments/staff to ensure training is provided.
  • Resolving management queries and staff and customer complaints
  • Resolving queries within own area of expertise or authority and referring to the Sales Head - Consumer Cards where the query is outside the jobholder’s authority
  • Ensuring team compliance with ADCB's policies on compliance and money laundering deterrence
  • Ensuring adequate compliance resources are in place and training is provided and by fostering a compliance culture. By ensuring that reporting and operational control is effective through spot checks and follow ups on recommendations implemented.
  • Implementing best practices and recommended updates received from Compliance/Internal Controls and internal and external Audit points and issues.
  • Drive the performance of the department by leading, managing and developing the team
  • Managing the team and working with HR to ensure the availability of adequate and skilled resources and fostering a performance driven and compliance oriented culture in the department
  • Coaching senior executives, planning career development and enhancing their professional skills and encouraging them to continuously enhance operations and service levels
  • Managing the performance appraisal system to ensure that development opportunities are identified and top performers are recognized

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree from a reputed educational institution
  • MBA or equivalent post graduate degree/diplomas in finance, accounting and/or general management
  • 5-7 years in the Credit Card/Retail banking division of a leading bank with a minimum of 3 years in a Senior Sales role
