With a pipeline of expansion and development projects in key markets, including India, Africa, Europe and the Middle East, capacity is expected to rise to around 103 million TEU by 2020, in line with market demand.

Job Description:
This role is only open for UAE Nationsls
The role reports to the Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications and the main purpose is to be the official preserver of DP World’s history, protecting and promoting the DP World brand and connecting DP World with the Dubai and UAE community, thereby reinforcing the company’s role as one of the foundations of the local economy, while at the same time highlighting the company’s important role in supporting world trade.

Job Requirements:
In order to give credible support to the organisation and be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have the following experience, skills, and qualification:

  •     A Bachelor of Arts degree in history or similar is required, and preferably a professional qualification or post-graduate degree in museum studies;
  •     2 to 3 years’ experience in archiving, collections management and in curating exhibitions;
  •     Extensive experience in multimedia, social/digital media and website development;
  •     Excellent English and Arabic written and oral communication skills;
  •     Creative and innovative with the ability, drive and confidence to lead initiatives and take them from initial concept through to completion;
  •     Experience working with and managing a wide range of vendors including graphic designers, exhibition organisers, multimedia specialists;
  •     Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise own workload and meet deadlines;
  •     Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with people at every level of an organisation and community;
  •     Sensitive to working with many different cultures.

Job Responsibilities:
  •     Collect, catalogue, archive and preserve documents, photos, film, memorabilia relating to DP World’s history, eventually establishing a database and digital collection of the archive as well as a physical collection;
  •     Develop, curate and oversee exhibitions and displays at DP World HO, both digital and physical, highlighting DP World and its role in the development of Dubai and the UAE, and its subsequent expansion outside of the UAE;
  •     Work closely with the P&O Heritage Curator and P&O Heritage Digital Curator to draw on their expertise in the development of the DP World history collection and the curating and displaying of physical and online exhibitions;
  •     Work with functional and regional heads to ensure that the DP World history created today is recorded and preserved for tomorrow;
  •     Manage, develop and promote the Dreams of the Sea Dubai maritime history project, including multimedia elements. Stories, images and other media to be made publicly available through the Dreams of the Sea website and the permanent home of the Dreams of the Sea project on the Creek;
  •     Develop and curate regular exhibitions/features for Dreams of the Sea, both online and at the Creek venue;
  •     Manage contract staff at the Dreams of the Sea venue who will be manning the project on a daily basis;
  •     Actively engage with the Dubai community, particularly Dubai youth, to capture the memories and insights of the older generation on the way Dubai used to be to create an ongoing living archive for the benefit of Dubai and the UAE;
  •     Work with the Corporate Communications team to explore sponsorship opportunities for Dreams of the Sea project to involve more organisations with the aim of eventually having the project self-funding;
  •     Work with DP World’s media and marketing teams to promote curated exhibitions and project initiatives to the benefit of DP World and the brand.
