• Registered Nurse and Current License
• Relevant Post Registration Clinical Qualification
• Relevant Diploma/degree (or willing to obtain)

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Develop and Review HMC nursing vision ,mission ,philosophy, clinical practice and Infection control standards which comply with international standards.
• Design job descriptions that clearly define the role and responsibilities of all positions under her supervision.
• Understand and accept accountability for the delivery and quality of service provided to patients.
• Review and monitor staffing requirements according to the needs of the service ensuring that the level of clinical skills available is taken into account when assigning workload.
• Direct the delivery of patient care through thoughtful delegation and empowerment of Charge Nurses ensuring that care is assessed, planned, implemented and evaluated according to an acceptable agreed standard
• Ensure the competence of staff is monitored through the implementation of regular performance review and agreed goals achieved through facilitation and mentorship.
• Manage the available resources, staff and equipment in a way that demonstrates good planning, careful economy and value for money.
• Develop and demonstrate a style of management that is open, positive, fair, consultative and non-judgmental fostering a climate more conducive to learning, where staff feels valued and fear and intimidation are eliminated.
• Through example, encourage greater understanding, harmony and collaborative working within the multidisciplinary teams in the interest of better care of patients.
• Develop effective channels of communication for the dissemination of information and eliciting of staff views and opinions while being mindful of the need for simplicity and avoidance of unnecessary bureaucracy.
• Plan and participate in the recruitment and selection of new staff, ensure that their orientation is appropriate.
• Actively and positively participates in the development and implementation of the Department of Nursing strategic plans.
• Practice and promote strict compliance with all agreed Personnel policies and procedures, especially in the area of leave scheduling/sickness monitoring.
• Promote and maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for patients where equipment is adequate regularly maintained and staff are aware of hazards and take action to minimize risk.
• Undertake the management of risk issues by promptly investigating and following through on all untoward incidents, where necessary makes recommendations and implement preventive measures.
• Respond to problems, conflicts and complaints in a timely, logical, analytical and knowledgeable manner observing established policies and procedures and cultural norms and utilizing where appropriate the expertise, experience and wisdom of peers, senior colleagues and Heads of Department to find solution.
• Ensuring the HMC compliance with applicable regulation, rules and standards.

Professional Responsibilities
• Provide professional and specialist advice on the provision of nursing care and on the nursing management of patients
• Participate in the direct delivery of patient care as a role model of good practice and as an opportunity to teach and encourage the need for high standards.
• Develop systems of audit to monitor the effectiveness of care and in consultation with others where necessary, implement recommendations to improve the care to patients.
• Collaborates with Medical staff and other Healthcare Professional on patient care and patient management issues as required

• Provides needs analysis information as requested regarding the educational needs of staff within the area of responsibility.
• Encourage the continuing professional development of staff, participated in the delivery of in-service education, seek the help, knowledge and support of others and share information for the benefit of staff and patient
