In 1973, the National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC) was initially established to provide a facility for the fabrication of steel structures required by the onshore and offshore Oil and Gas production industry. In 1978 NPCC expanded its operation by setting up a custom built pipe coating facility at the yard.

Minimum Requirements:
•  Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Job Description :    
Jobholders at this level are all involved in the construction, testing and implementation of small to medium in-house software programs that most effectively meet client department requirements. They also have a responsibility for mentoring junior colleagues.

The main functions of the SDE's shall include, and not be limited to:
• Constructs product and carries- out testing to ensure design criteria are met and that integration with existing systems is established.
• Assists in the implementation of in-house developed software programs and participates in training client department staff in system usage.
• Assist in the development of user manuals for distribution to client department staff ensuring that all information is fully compliant with IS&T quality standards..
• Provide on-call support for application systems to client departments for the resolution of operating problems..
• Guides, advises and provides technical direction to junior colleagues to assist in their development and ensure that procedurally compliant practices are adopted.
• Assist and teach Trainer/QA Specialist, if necessary on training and implementation.
